LEARN & PLAY

Traditional tunes,

     traditional methods...

The Detroit Irish Music Association offers private one-on-one lessons on traditional Irish instruments including fiddle, tin whistle, flute, accordion, concertina, harp, uilleann pipes and bodhrán, as well as traditional singing. Lessons are typically conducted during our Thursday evening gatherings at Green Wood, but arrangements may be available upon request.  For rates, schedule availability, and other questions, click the button to the right. All ages and experience levels welcome!
Workshops with the
   finest in traditional music...

One of the most exciting perks of membership in the Detroit Irish Music Association is the regular availability of group workshops with some of the very best traditional musicians from Ireland and beyond.  Some are instrument-specific, while others are multi-instrument ensemble and repertoire classes.  Past workshop teachers have included members of such groups as The Chieftains, The Bothy Band, Lúnasa, De Dannan, and more!
